The Eye of the Needle Gate - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Maisenbacher

I recently have been seeing what I call “spirit highlights” about God bringing a return in understanding of the fear of the Lord. Scripture instructs us that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10.

During prayer I have sensed His sadness and even grieving at times of how His created people view Him today. I believe some have separated Jesus’ words or full gospel to parts of the gospel that are palatable or “seem good to them.” I was directed to read the Book of Matthew once again. The documented words of Jesus, especially in Matthew, are lovely and encouraging as well as sobering. I encourage you to read through Matthew, especially through chapters 5-7.

We as His body have been through many wonderful seasons of grace and revelation. We have grown in understanding of His amazing Love, His great Grace, His desire to Heal, the expansion of Prophetic understanding and Intimacy to hear His voice. With each season, to some He has become a sweet and merciful Papa, or Abba, which He is;  but the fullness of God reveals He is also a God of War, a God of Power, Judgement, and Correction, which sometimes may look like vengeance, or retribution. How do we digest and comprehend more of the “Fullness of God?”

I personally believe He is coming to show and reveal even more of His character and ways in this season. It may in the future cause discomfort to some in how we see God. We know the earth is shaking, and It appears God is allowing, maybe even orchestrating the times we are in, as He is choosing to expose evil and corruption that is an affront to Him as Creator. He is here. He is Jehovah Shammah. He is ready to reveal Himself as Righteous Judge, which will continue unfolding in the coming days.

For the Lord is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation ( irritation) every day. If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword. Prov. 7:11.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31.

(2) The second word or phrase highlighted to me recently is, “The Eye of the Needle Gate.

There are many gates one can pass through in Jerusalem: Zion Gate, Damascus Gate, Jaffa Gate, Dung Gate, New Gate, Herod Gate, Golden Gate or Eastern Gate to the Temple Mount, and Lion’s Gate. There are also various opinions among biblical scholars as to whether the eye of the needle gate existed or was used by Jesus as an analogy or hyperbole. As I searched for evidence of the Eye of the Needle gate, it was heralded by some scholars as true while others suggested Jesus used a hyperbolic illustration.

Eye of the Needle Gate
Jerusalem

Some scholars suggest, the "Eye of the Needle" was very real and that it was an extremely narrow gateway into Jerusalem. Since camels were heavily loaded with goods and riders, they needed to be un-loaded in order to pass through this opening, I wonder if as a young boy Jesus may have witnessed the small narrow opening where camels were daily unloaded and carefully accompanied through some of the very narrow passageways that still exist today in the old city. History tells us that Jerusalem experienced many battles and occupations, with walls and buildings being destroyed and rebuilt. I personally am inclined to believe Jesus retrieved from His memory the analogy of what He visually experienced as a young boy to teach and illustrate his point. I encourage you to research and let me know what you find.

In Matthew 19:24, Jesus talks to the rich young ruler. This young man is asking what else he needs to do to enter the kingdom of God, when Jesus answers: “If you want to be perfect (fully complete or an adult), go sell your possessions and give to the poor,, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then, come follow Me.” Matt. 19:21.

As we know, the young man goes away sad because he is extremely wealthy. Scripture is unclear if he ever came back, but we can hope that after pondering Jesus’ words, he chose to follow Him. The broader context of Jesus' statement seems to suggest that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter heaven.

Is this true? The rich are often more self-assured, and well off. They usually don't have to worry about having their basic needs met like food, shelter, or money. Therefore, they may not often think of eternity because they have been fairly comfortable on earth.

Jesus isn’t saying here that money is the root of all evil, but the love of money can cause destruction to man’s soul and destiny. After all, Job was a very rich man who God favored, and after his trials, God restored Job’s wealth plus much more. Being rich isn't a sin, and they are not spared from the pains of life; however, I have observed it can be more difficult for them to see their need for Christ.

Those with less, know experientially what it's like to struggle. It is often through our suffering we come to know God. It is in difficult times and challenges we begin to recognize our lack of self sufficiency and our need for a Savior.

Jesus makes an important point regarding this to His audience and followers: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be. Matt. 6: 19-21.

Tim Hegg, of www.torahresource.com, summarizes in His commentary: “So did Yeshua utilize the hyperbolic illustration of a camel going through the eye of a needle to teach that it was impossible for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven? Yes, if we understand that he means a rich person who is trusting in his or her riches to enter the kingdom. And this is the point: There is only one way to enter the kingdom, to trust God fully, and to demonstrate trust by the acceptance of his Messiah and following Him.

I know this is a bit long, but as an intercessor, God often gives puzzle pieces one at a time, causing me to search out and find what He wants to share. I hope you’re enjoying the “hunt” with me as we put the puzzle pieces together. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2. One more highlight to go!

3) Thirdly, He brought to mind a word released at The Covenant Center during our June 2, 2024 worship and celebration meeting where the Lord called His people “gates:” Here is the word transcribed for you:

“The Spirit of the Lord is here speaking, this morning. As the drum roll began we could sense His presence marching into this assembly. Almost simultaneously, Angela, began streaming the silver banner declaring redemption. I then heard the Spirit of the Lord speaking. I’m sure you did also.

He is saying this is not a time of discouragement. I have been training you and preparing you for your entire life for these moments. I want to remind you to be sensitive to My Spirit. I have made you sensitive to My Spirit. For in these times more than ever, it’s going to be important for you to know when I am in your midst and when I am working. For I have not left you. And as I reveal my plans to you, watch as the wind blows. Watch as the Mulberry trees blow. Watch as I come in My majesty. For I am not just coming, I am here! I am here in your midst, and I am doing a great thing in the earth. Will you not know it? Will you not see it? For I have given you eyes to see. I have given you ears to hear. I am increasing your sensitivity and even the anointing level upon you, to those who would seek Me and stand with Me.

And then I heard Him say, “Declare Psalm 24,” the Spirit of the Lord wants to remind us all:

“The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof. The world and all who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas and has established it upon the waters. Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in this holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart who does not lift up his soul to falsehood (lying or vainness) or swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from the God of his salvation.”

That’s why He’s been working in our hearts to purify us, for this time, to be standing before Him pure, to be able to serve and be sensitive to His will and His plans and desires.

And then He continued: This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face oh God of Jacob.” And the declaration for the day, this morning , released by the  psalmist and musicians was:

“Lift up your head oh gates.” Each of you are one of the kingdom gates Covenant Center family! “Be lifted up oh ancient doors so the King of glory may enter.” Do you sense His weighted presence? He’s here.

Who is the King of glory? The Lord, our Lord, strong and mighty. The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads oh gates. And be lifted up oh ancient doors. That the King of glory, our King of glory may enter! Who is the King of glory? He is the Lord of Hosts. He is the King of glory. Selah.”

We praise you Lord. We thank you Almighty God, Elohim, Yeshua, Almighty God, Creator of earth and everything therein. We praise your name today and thank You for who You are. And that You are always working on our behalf and in our midst. Your plans go beyond any man’s plans. May Your will be done in our hearts and in the earth. We give you praise today and thank You for You are mighty. Thank You Lord!

Conclusion: So what am I saying this morning?

As the world continues to shake with His judgments and exposure, people around you may become more unsettled, searching, some for answers, maybe fearful, and you will have a word for them as Holy Spirit leads. The Lord whispered today to share with you - He has been preparing you, your entire life, to serve and be used in the earth at this time, in this season by Him. You are His people, trained to minister and be His hand extended to a confused and hurting world. The Spirit says: I have need of you ~ This is your time. Whosoever will….

And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?” Mark 8:34-36.

I Am Not A Religion - I Am Relationship

The sun kissed the earth early Sunday morning as I awakened to get ready for our Covenant Center December 17th morning celebration. Richard and I took off for The Center as I sang Christmas songs in my head, and he prayed for the meeting and our TCC family. Joy and thanksgiving filled my heart for the Lord’s presence and this special season. As we drove closer to our destination, I unexpectedly sensed an intense sadness and grief, when I was taken into a vision and the Spirit began to speak.

I had been asking the Lord what was on His heart as we prepared to celebrate Christmas and the new year. The great sadness, a soberness from heaven left me breathless. I was not expecting this on such a bright joyful morning. The chatter in the car diminished as my senses zeroed in on the gentle whisper of the Spirit. I knew it was important to stay focused as we arrived at The Center. I immediately gathered paper and pen and began to write down what I received. As an intercessor it is not unusual to hear him speak and share, however I can count on one hand the times I have sensed and received such intense grief and sobering presence that moved me to tears. I was being visited by his spirit of truth and repentance. Maybe you have experienced this too.

After writing down all that I received, Richard asked to read it. The King was visiting and within my spirit man, I was bowed low at his presence. I thought this visit and revelation was simply for me; however, as Richard asked me to share what he considered “a tough word,” I submitted the following to our TCC family and our prophetic council. I prefaced that this word is NOT directed at any one person, church, or denomination. The vision included places and people, events I walked through or observed in my 50 years of ministry and 70 years in his body.

To me, he was simply sharing his sadness at the many toxic, sometimes covered up events that have been hidden and perpetrated upon his precious body, often being done in his name. Unfortunately, I have seen more than I wish to know. The depth of grief that I sensed from him was literally painful and revealed his call for repentance as intercessors. As we prepare for 2024, I could sense His desire to bring correction and proper alignment of those who have been positioned over his people. I now submit this to you for prayer and reflection. He shares his secrets as well as his pain as he reveals what is to come. He loves his people so deeply. He desires great life for you and as a God of mercy, he has withheld his hand for a time. However, I sensed he is ready to bring some correction, for his desire is still to come for a church without spot or wrinkle.

“I Am He – there is no other. I Am the Spirit of Grace and I have given My people free choice. I’ve given assignments for them to walk with Me and build My Kingdom. But alas – much like My people who chose Saul, time has proven their choices. As I have watched those people who have turned My words into their own and many have chosen to build their kingdom instead of Mine. I have (patiently) watched as men have lifted themselves up, they have sometimes made idols in My name, some unintentionally and some with malice and intent. They say: “Come to me – Follow me!” They have left a strange taste in My mouth. As man, many men, have violated my people [a much stronger word was used]. They have caused others to look to them and others instead of Me. The Spirit of the Lord says: Enough I say! Enough!

Now I, the Lord, I will arise. Now I will be the One that is exalted! Now I will be lifted up! You will see in the coming days, [certain] structures and those who have exalted themselves before Me – they will be dealt with by My hand. I will now build My Kingdom. I have given you, My people the time in the earth to build, but now the time is Mine. For I have heard the cries of My children in their distress, in their confusion and pain, and the toxicity of My church. Hold on and do not fear, as I am bringing the church age to the end, and I am translating it now into My Kingdom, where My will, will be done! My Beloved, in these days, you have heard it spoken - be wise as serpents, and gentle as doves. Be alert, stand and see My salvation. Know My Beloved, that My heart is for you! Watch for Me. I have told you many things, as I tell you the truth, that I will be with you always. And I will be with you as those who choose to now build My Kingdom.

I Am not a religion – I Am Relationship. There are those who will know Me. There will be those who desire to know Me deep within, and they will take My hand, and they will speak by the Spirit of Truth and life will be breathed back into My earth as only I can do. And there will be My people who will once again, not look at man or look at what man has built, but they will look at Me! So, rejoice as we celebrate the birth of My Son. He is the Lord of My Kingdom! He will guide you into all truth and to My righteous way.”

Would you pray with me? Father, we thank you that you are gracious and merciful. We thank you that you would come and share what is on your heart, even your grief and sadness. We ask your forgiveness Lord, for the times we have offended you. For the times we have discouraged you and chosen to do things our way. That we as your people have sometimes made idols out of those you have positioned over us. That we have looked to them, instead of you. Forgive us for the times we have, as your people have, consciously or unconsciously accepted the applause of man, instead of directing the eyes of man to you. Forgive those who have abused your people, developing toxic environments, that have wounded others and caused many to fall away from you. Be King now in these situations, as you bring your correction and healing, transitioning your people into your Kingdom era.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Is It Time To Give Up The Candy? - Becky Maisenbacher

Rebecca Maisenbacher

This week as I spent time with the Lord, I asked him if he had anything for me to share. Nothing particularly was illuminated to me until Tuesday morning, Nov. 28th. The following is the dream I received and share with you for your consideration.

I was a chaperone of a team for a choral competition which included many teams of children and young adults. Each team member wore their perspective t-shirts displaying their group affiliation. I next found myself sitting among a group in a large auditorium observing and listening to the various teams perform their musical numbers. The team I supervised did not perform. I assumed they ran out of time due to the large number of teams, although I sensed all the participants received a piece of candy for their participation at the conclusion.

In the next scene I was pushing an enclosed, moderate size blue cart on rollers, that was used to cart supplies and heavy items for our group. At the close of the competition, everyone exited the arena, silently and respectively walking single file. As we reached outside the auditorium to debrief, our group gathered together. I then lifted the lid of the blue cart wondering what was inside, only to find it filled to the brim with assorted candies and larger lollipops. I was amazed to see the amount of candy relinquished by members of our team. I sensed that members of some of the other teams had also privately and without acknowledgement, deposited their candy in the blue cart. The youth individually surrendered their treat rewards they had received into the blue cart, privately without acknowledgement or fanfare.

Cart – making certain plans, count the cost, preparing for an extended period of hard laborious work before you see the fruits of your labors come to fruition. Putting the cart before the horse.

Blue – the Spirit of Might, Is. 11:2; faith, spiritual communion with God; prophet; Word of God; grace; divine revelation; heaven; spiritual; visitation; Holy Spirit; blessings; healing; life; peace; unity; harmony; tranquility; loyalty; “true blue.”

Candy – profit from labors will bring joy, happiness and special treats or luxuries in life; affluence; admiration; indulgence, sensuality or forbidden pleasure, immaturity, childishness. I Cor. 13:11.

Lollipop – childish indulgences; naïve; refusing to grow up, shirking responsibility; physical experiences and escapades; pun: “sucker,” take caution with relationships and investments.

Team member/group – A group that is organized so they can produce work together, fellow workers.

God is Calling His Body to Maturity ~

We find Paul in 1st Corinthians instructing the Corinthians on the need for unity, reliance upon the Spirit, and the foundations for living as servants of Christ, including communion and the use of spiritual gifts. He continues in chapter 13 where we find his well-known message regarding the excellence of love, concluding with the importance of maturity in verse 11-13.

“When I was a child I used to speak as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then (it will be) face to face; now I know in part, then I will know fully, just as God has fully known me. But for now, three things last - abide trust, hope, love; and the greatest of these is love. Pursue love!” (CJB)

God is bringing a higher level of maturity to those who have chosen to no longer live as a child. They will give up old, learned behaviors and patterns, embracing higher levels of revelation and understanding. They will surrender their personal desires, ambitions and plans, relationships, or affiliations. They will choose to relinquish the need to perform or be rewarded for their service, performance, or notoriety, no longer needing man’s approval. They will refuse to submit to the spirit of competition, quietly and selflessly serving, relinquishing any reward or self-exultation, knowing all sustenance and skill comes from the Father. They quietly and confidently will choose to walk out their journey, confidently and without fanfare, embracing his process for maturity, relying on his Spirit, relinquishing the need for recognition, choosing to lay down their personal indulgences and childish paradigms. They will choose to forsake their personal pleasures as they embrace their calling with humility, practicing forgiveness, becoming repairers of the breach, and walking as vessels of his love. They will desire to be united by his Spirit, as they grow in an intimate, personal relationship with God, walking in his truth and revelation.

The Righteous Reign of the Branch ~ Isaiah 11:1,2

“Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.” (NASB)

A blessed Christmas Season and Hanukkuh to you and family,

Our Choices Can Bring Life - Richard Maisenbacher

Richard Maisenbacher

Last week Pastor Becky Maisenbacher shared a wonderful message of how the joy of the Lord is our strength. In Hebrew - joy is the manifestation of divine purpose fulfilled, and since everything in creation has purpose and when any part of creation acts according to its design, that part expresses and experiences joy (gladness). Thank you, Father, that your joy is my strength!

There were a few scriptures highlighted to me, and I have noticed that if I don’t pay attention to them my joy is very challenged! In other words, I become distracted, discouraged, and feel alone.

The culture of the 21st century has caused me to consider one of Paul’s “beware” verses in Colossians 2:8. “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

Jesus also asked us to beware in Matthew 16:6, “Watch out and beware of the leaven (teaching) of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” It seems necessary to pay attention to the paradigms of the world and the church!

In Proverbs 12:15 it says, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a person who listens to advice is wise.” It might be faster and easier to just think the way we want to; however, it is still important to pay attention to others’ opinions and then use discernment. It does not mean we have to agree, but there seems to be an advantage in at least listening to what others may believe around us. It does not say that the wise man gives advice. It says that he listens. Wisdom is knowing how to hear, then sharing what the Lord has given us.

Then in my prayer time I started to focus on the Tree of Knowledge. Genesis 2:16-17, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat.  For in the day you eat from it you will surely die.” In Genesis 3:5, “For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

Yada (knowing) in its pictograph is to make the door opening an intimate experience. Yada is making something happen which can be an intimate experience. “I will make a way to open a door of experience for myself.” Why did Eve eat of the tree? She believed it would improve her ability to make decisions on her own. It was good for food, a delight to her eyes, and desirable to make her wise!  She intuitively knows what to do. She can save God some time now that she knows how to do things on her own. She might have thought, “Lord help me to be a little more independent, and self-reliant so I can take care of myself and meet my goals in life so I can worship you more.”

We can make decisions ourselves instead of relying on someone else. The Tree of Knowledge implies I will no longer be dependent on anyone. We begin to see how much the role of our personal desires plays in our determining good and evil. My voice now competes with God’s voice. Now decisions are looked at by what is good for me or bad for me. I can decide between what God asks and what I desire. This may open us up to sin, especially independence, however, God built desire into our hearts. It is not about getting rid of desire. It is learning to listen to God’s voice to direct the passion of our desire.

We know that we have daily decisions to make regarding which tree to have a relationship with. The Tree of Life or The Tree of Knowledge. The Tree of Life centers on knowing God intimately, relationally, and through His written Word. We therefore make decisions knowing His will for us. The other is The Tree of Knowledge and desiring to be independent of God in our decisions regarding good and evil. Obviously having a relationship with the Tree of Life allows us to express our intimate covenant relationship with God through the Holy Spirit!

His Joy Is Our Strength - Becky Maisenbacher

Rebecca Maisenbacher

On my first trip to Israel something happened to me. I fell in love with the people and the region. After our return home, it became very apparent I also left a part of my heart there too. From the moment I planted my feet on the soil at the Kibbutz by the Sea of Galilee, peace washed over my soul – I found myself trying to hold back tears – I felt I was “home.”

Watching the news has been challenging. The heaviness of any war can bring intercessors to their knees. The assault on any people desiring to live in peace and celebrate life is tragic. After visiting the middle east, it is evident to me that even though this is a war being fought in the natural – this is a spiritual war.  In this fallen world the battle between light and darkness is ever present. I sought the Lord prayerfully regarding these events. “Lord, please help lift some of the weight of this burden I feel. Help me understand.” The next morning, I awoke to this song in my head: “This is my story, this is my song, praising my savior all the day long, this is my story, this is my song, praising my savior all the day long.”

As I continued to listen, a vision of my mother and grandmother appeared in my mind’s eye. I was reminded of the five years of war they endured with my father overseas – WWII and Korea. How did they survive Lord? How did they endure? The loss of young men no longer working in the fields of their farming community now gone. Father, how do those affected by current events survive the pain, suffering and loss?

In a class with John Paul Jackson several years ago he said: “What you focus on, you make room for.” This statement has been like a barometer – it quietly whispers to check myself when I begin to lose His peace. Where is my focus? What are my expectations? It helps when the dreaded regrets knock at my door, or when fear tries to draw me into the “What ifs?”I was also fortunate to live with my grandmother for a time. She stayed active in her church community, with prayer and night vigils, various gatherings of believers and friends focusing on His word, encouraging one another, weeping together while also finding joyful moments of encouragement and hope. There were many mornings I passed by her Bible opened on the end table by her rocking chair. There was great comfort and a sweet fragrance of joy and peace knowing she had talked with God. “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Recently I observed an interview from Israel. The gentleman was assigned recovery of the bodies from the recent assault. As he and the reporter stood by the now decimated home, he calmly told the reporter he retrieved over seven hundred bodies including women and children since the attacks. The stunned reporter listened intently, as this fragile-looking man spoke of entering the home and documenting the bodies. God gave him strength and directed him to honor the deceased by offering prayers and then singing and dancing beside them to honor their lives. The reporter was speechless as he declared, “You’re doing God’s work.” At that moment tears filled my eyes, and I was made keenly aware of his belief that all life is precious to God, as each created being fulfills their earthly purpose. God, in the midst of chaos and mayhem, was there with His love. I saw more clearly how in Hebrew, even inanimate objects have human emotions: “The hills clap their hands, The heavens rejoice.”

Then, I heard “Becky, they find joy in Me and My strength.” Father, what does this really mean? Romans 8:28 – And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” In other words, the joy of the Lord is a source of strength that comes from Him, as we trust in His grace and goodness. It is not a feeling of happiness based on our current events or circumstances. It is the result of a deep-rooted faith that God will work all things together for good. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine, oh what a foretaste of glory divine, heir of salvation, purchased of God, born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

We Find Joy in His Strength ~

We are connected to God and loved by Him which gives us the assurance and boldness to approach Him to “find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16. And the grace that He provides is enough for everything in our lives. “And He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” 2nd Corinthians 12:9.

“To each one of us grace has been given.” Ephesians 4:7. His grace is the strength He provides for us. “So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us in His beloved Son.” Ephesians 1:6

“Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my son I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.” Psalms 28:6-8

Our strength comes from God – who made heaven and earth. “I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord Who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1.

The Strength of God is His Grace ~

“To each one of us grace (charis) has been given.” Ephesians 4:7

In the Strong’s Concordance, the definition for Charis 5485 is: Graciousness of manner or act, the divine influences upon the heart and reflection in the life: gratitude, joy literally, pleasure, benefit, favor, gift.

Our strength comes from God – who made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2.

We Receive Joy and Strength Through Holy Spirit ~

The gift of Joy is found in the Fruit of the Spirit. “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17.

In chapter 8 of Nehemiah, the governor instructed the Hebrews regarding the feasts, along with Ezra and the Levites. The people were sorrowful and weeping that they were unable to align their behavior with the law. Seeing this Nehemiah spoke: “This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep. Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

We are all far from perfect people, but as His children, we are known to Him. In Luke chapter 15, the stories about sheep, a coin and a son all end in rejoicing. God wants you to know he finds great joy in union or reunion with Him. We are made for union with Him.

We can dig down deep and be filled with joy as we draw water from the wells of salvation, Isaiah 12:3. We recover His joy. We may not understand all that has transpired, but we can be strengthened and regain joy in His love for us and we can then rejoice in His salvation – (being delivered from all forms of evil).

God Wants Your Joy to be Full ~

He is called Jehovah El Sali – the Lord is my strength; God is my rock.

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11. This is a covenant scripture from a covenant God. We exchange our sorrow for His joy. His joy is in you so your life may be joy-full.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13.

“Consider it all joy (chara G5479), my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

Richard, enouraged me to also check Dr. Skip Moen’s Hebrew Word Study. In his article Hebrew Joy, June 12, 2019, (https://skipmoen.com/2019/06/hebrew-joy/), he shares that “gladness” in our English dictionary is defined as pleasure or happiness which follows the Greek western thought from Plato or Aristotle. However, he suggests: “This is not so typical in Hebrew.”

In Hebrew thought he adds: “Joy is the manifestation of divine purpose fulfilled, and since everything in creation has purpose, whenever any part of the creation acts according to its design, that part expresses and experiences śimḥâ, (seem-kha’) the Hebrew word for Joy, Gladness.”

In this life we encounter difficult, and sometimes tragic events. We live in a fallen world. There are times when our response to life is not particularly joyful. Dr. Moen continues: “Without minimizing this serious condition (sorrow, struggle, guilt), śimḥâ reminds us that any part of creation presently fulfilling its designed purpose is an expression of joy.”

Have you ever found joy and beauty in raindrops, the lilting song of a bird, watching the clouds roll across an azure sky? Maybe you have rejoiced in a beautiful flower blooming in your garden, or the celebration of the life of a loved one? These events remind us that God has built joy into every part of His creation. I like this statement from Dr. Moen: “Joy is not only communal. It is associative, creative and intentional.”

Joy is God’s gift where we can experience His comforting joy as He works to make the knowledge of Jesus a reality in our hearts. Joy matures in us as we are strengthened in our trust and faithfulness to Him. God designed joy as a fruit of His Spirit so it must be pretty important to Him. He desires for us to sense His joy in our union, reunion and communion with Him. He made us for relationship with Him!

He Strengthens Us With His Joy ~

“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17

“You make known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:11

We Can Find His Hope In Our Suffering ~

God in His love wraps His arms around His children. His plan for you is victory and redemption through His Son who never waivers.

God has always had victory over evil – Gen. 3:14-15

Our sorrows matter to God – Psalm 56:8

He is our refuge and shelter – Proverbs 18:10

He makes our suffering or pain purposeful – Romans 5:3-5 - Tribulation brings perseverance.

Jesus and Holy Spirit intercede on our behalf – Romans 8:26-27

Any suffering we have will end in joy. Revelation 21:3

His name is Jehovah Shammah. He is there – with His people – ever present with you. In His presence is fullness of joy.

Prayer ~ Thank you Father that you have created us to live, breathe, move and have our being in You. Your name is Peace, Hope, Joy, Mercy, Grace and Love. You are also Almighty God, our Dread Champion and Captain of the Hosts. You are El Shaddai, The God of Might. Your ways are so much higher than ours. Help us to see life in all Your creation as You visit us with Your wisdom and understanding. Teach us the depth of Your ways Lord.

In His Love,

Throw Them A Lifeline & Deep Waters Ahead! - Becky Maisenbacher

Rebecca Maisenbacher

I am always in awe and wonder how God desires to speak to us, especially through dreams and visions. June has been a very active month as God is releasing dreams and understanding. The two following dreams may give you insight as He continues to reveal His guidance and direction.

Recently, as I awakened, still in that peaceful twilight, I found myself on a large ship, standing on the upper deck enjoying the breeze and beauty of the deep blue sea, when I heard a loud voice blaring  over the speakers from the captain’s pilothouse of the ship yelling: “Throw them a lifeline. Throw them a lifeline!” I immediately ran to the life preservers, like the older models of red and white, and I threw a line out as hard and far as I could throw. As I looked down over the railing of the deck to see where it landed, I was stunned, seeing a multitude of people struggling in the water, crying out for help. The cry and needs were overwhelming as I thought, “There are more here than I can manage – Lord, send help!” As the cries continued, I began to see more passengers arrive on deck as they also began to throw out lifelines to those overboard.

Let’s look at the symbolism of this dream:

Ocean – large groups, humanity or nations of people ~

Ocean Liner – very large, mission-minded church impacting large groups of people ~

Lifeline – a lifeline indicates someone is in need of immediate help; someone needs to be
rescued. Look to God for wisdom to help deliver the person from life threatening
situations. (Dream Symbology Dictionary, Dr. Barbie Breathitt, Breath of the Spirit Ministries)

A line used to keep contact with a person in a dangerous or potentially dangerous situation:
something regarded as indispensable for the maintaining or protection of life.

Next, I saw a vision where Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness.

“Seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’” Matthew 9:35-36.

I believe this is a clarion call for His people to arise to even a higher level of service and revelation, to see with spirit eyes as we scan the horizon the multitudes who are in need. There are those who are drowning and lost in the sea of humanity, lonely, fearful, anxious, hungry, suicidal, confused and distressed. The “Captain” is calling on all passengers of His ship to see those in need and take action . He is reminding those aboard to “Throw a lifeline to those around you who may be drowning.” Please consider throwing a lifeline to those He may reveal who cross your path. No action is too small. Jesus taught that even the smallest gift as giving a cup of water would be rewarded.

You carry the ability to release the gift of love and life to a wounded and hurting world. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. A simple cup of water, a kind note or word of encouragement, a listening ear, guidance, assistance with food, gas or even shelter, and of course Jesus. Listen to your Captain’s voice and He will show you where to throw the line and to whom, and you will touch a world, one person at a time, in His name. The life preservers are positioned and ready!

In the second dream, Richard and I were preparing to go scuba diving with a personal friend named Marcus. I tried on Richard’s suit and to my surprise it fit. So Richard and I purchased a suit for me and we were ready to descend into the deep waters with Marcus. I remember being a bit nervous thinking of going underwater with the sea creatures, praying that I would stay calm as we dove into the deep, not knowing what we would experience.

Again, let’s view the referenced symbolism here:

Scuba Diving - The deep of God is calling to the deep within you; things in your subconscious are trying to come to the surface, exploration and new personal depth.

Marcus: Is the name for Mark meaning - “Servant of God.” John 4:24 - God is spirit and those who worship him will worship him in spirit and in truth.

Psalm 42:7 - Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me. The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night,
a prayer to the God of my life.

The Spirit of God desires to reach deep into the spirit of His children, bypassing all that which would attempt to impede that precious communion, intimacy and fellowship He so passionately desires to have with each of us. He desires to take you deeper into His revelatory realm giving you greater wisdom, guidance and understanding as He reveals more of Himself and His ways. God desires relationship with you! Let’s prepare to launch out into the deep.

In His Love,

My Heart Beats For My People!: Becky Maisenbacher

Rebecca Maisenbacher

During a sweet time of praise and worship on Feb. 26, 2023, Shane Butler released a spirit word in tongues, calling for Holy Spirit to come with revelation and encouragement. The meeting room quieted as he called for anyone to bring the interpretation for those in attendance to hear and weigh. As I looked around the room, waiting quietly for someone to arise to the front, I began to sensed a very heavy weight-like presence and realized it was for me to share. The following is the transcription of this gentle, loving and precious visitation from Holy Spirit.. How sweet it is when He comes with edification, comfort and guidance. In His Love, Becky

(Becky) I stand here sometimes with (some) trepidation, for the things I hear for our community. It makes it difficult as one of the founders to not look manipulative, because that is one thing the Lord has said that He has had enough in His body of manipulation. The Lord has been speaking to me recently because I have been asking Him about the future development of The Center. And He said: You know I placed a dream in your heart, I placed a vision for the earth and for My people, and I said, “Is there anyone in the earth that will take this plan and plant it?” and He looked to and fro. And there were some that started and some that said, “This is too much for me.” And so, the vision and the dream was passed, and it landed in the hands of this family. And this family said, “Yes, Lord, we will do it. We will try.” Because I’ve called you to be a family. I’ve called you to be multicultural. I’ve called you to be multi-generational. I’ve called you to be a Training Center- a Healing Center. I’ve called you to be strategically placed. And you’ve asked over and over, Lord, what could be so strategic about this family?

But I say to you, you yoked yourself together and you stood. And you have passed the test that I have given to you to see if I could find you faithful. And in the development, there have been some that would come, some that would go, because that’s also been the plan. You see the government of My House, the Church at large, has developed into a place that holds My people and does not free them to do what I have called them to do. So, I searched for a place where I could deposit My Spirit, where I could have a visitation in the house that would be forever, so I could teach My people, so I could develop My people, so I could put a dream in their heart and a vision in their mind to go forth for My kingdom. And many have come broken and many have come dismayed, and many have come from toxic environments, where they said: “I don’t even know if I want to do this anymore Lord.”

But I made you a place of healing. I made you a place of praise and worship. I told you I would send the worshipers. I told you I would send the musicians. I told you I would expand you. I told you to be patient. And I have sent the dancers, the clappers, the musicians, the praisers, the artists – I’ve sent the intercessors. I have sent the prophets; I have sent the apostles. I told you there would always be the five-fold ministry in this house.  That it would stay, and it would stand. I have sent the drummers. I have sent the bassist who sits in the belly of this organized miracle, they beat the drum with the rhythm of My life, that I pour into this Center to release to the nations. Because I’ve called you to the nations. And I’ve told you recently – there is expansion – there is expansion – and I have said, “Don’t look at expansion by numbers. Just look to Me to see what I will expand, because My heart has never been about numbers; My heart has never been about buildings – My heart beats for My people! This is about My people. And I have found you faithful with those who are distressed, with those who seem lost, with those who have become weary, but are looking for a city on a hill, shining brightly for those who are weary to come to Me.

I’ve told you to not to look for whether you are small or large. Not to look at what My other families are doing, because I’ve made you, (this is a hard word to say because it sounds, yes, just say it Lord) – I’ve made you unique. I’ve made you unique. And that is why it has been important to remove any arrogance – any pride – any self-exulting that would come from this house; because My presence in this house is about Me, and My plan. It’s not about a building – not about expansion. I am building teams. I’m building a “unifying” that is yet to be seen totally, but there’s a wholeness coming to this family, and support of one another.

I see a chess board, and the Lord says: I Am the Grand Master! Those that try, ha, have no idea that I have already planned the moves! Ha! But the thing with chess, I remind My people is that it takes patience. But you will see Me move! And you will see Me say “Check mate!” You will see Me do these things not only in our nation, not only in the world, but in this place. For I will move you back and forth (in positions) I will move you - I will have you multi-task, but I’ve brought in a people who can do that. I have brought in a people that I have gifted with many gifts, many talents. I have writers and scribes, and artists and dancers and musicians and (teachers) and I have those who come away with Me in intercession and prayer and release My heart to the people. Because I said, “I will not leave you without understanding.”

So when you are wondering and wandering, (be encouraged) for I’ve begun to tell you the plan. And I’ve told you I’ve come with expansion, but now I declare to you a “second stage” of The Covenant Center. And you say, woah Lord, the first stage, did it take 25 years? And I tell you Yes, it did! It took 25 years, because I searched for a people, I brought people in, I let them go and I waited as I told you at the waters like Gideon’s army (selection) for those who could see My plan, see My future and see what was desired of them from Me. And those that have remained have become foundational for the building of this plan.

And now as we expand into the second stage, I will show you how faithful I am. (Remember) Didn’t I say I would bring in the musicians, the clappers, the singers, the worshipers, the writers – didn’t I say I would do those things? And I will not leave you without completing the plan. But for the second stage, continue in faith and know that I am a good God who has good things for you. And that I have called you – not only to develop your giftings and skills; but I have called you as a people. I have called you a Shiloh. I have called you Shiloh. I’ve called you to a place where the prophets will gather, and you will hear them and honor them and you will discuss the words that come forth and the plans, and we will continue to grow and develop. We will release the people that need to be released, some of them, mm, some of them will go without fulfillment of their call, but some will be released into their destiny. Just as I have released this place into their destiny.

So look to Me with your seer eyes, look to Me with your senses and your hearing. In prayer begin to seek what I am doing for you individually, and how you fit on the chess board. I’m so proud of you Covenant Center – I’m so proud of you, that you began with a seed, and you were willing to hold that seed and water it, and stand and wait patiently by faith, until life came forth. Let’s celebrate the victory of this first stage of completion; and let us now look forward to this second stage of expansion, and I will show you what that looks like and what that means. I will continue to bring in people to train and equip, some will be released and some will stay – teachers, evangelists, pastors, apostles, prophets. I bless you today. I bless you today! I bless you today.

I believe someone has an additional word to add to this? Is there someone here who does? This happens when the Lord comes this way to confirm some things. So thank you as Diana comes as we submit this to you - this is all for you to weigh – this is a word for you and the family, because God has birthed something here that is near to His heart and we are all figuring out what that is, because He gives the plan a little at a time. Yes, go ahead Diana.

Diana Mourey - And even this new expansion, stage two, is not even the expansion with a big building per se, but I’m even doing a new thing after all these years, and this newness is an acceleration of the presence of God. For the prophetic will and has already moved into this place in an upper level.  And it will continue. And there is an expansion of healing taking place, for My body has been wounded, My body has been stricken with ailments, sickness, and even situations.

But get ready, for when the Spirit of God moves in with all weapons, all weapons existing the -work is done. And it will not even be a hard thing. You’ve been through the hard thing. You’ve been through the wilderness. You have been through that, at times you were ready to give up. But even as I bring forth a new energizing into this place, there will be a unity that will take hold. There will be a determination to grab hold of the things that your heart has hungered for. And it has been that hunger in your heart that has gotten My attention. And it’s really no new thing. But in a sense, in your understanding, it is a new thing, because you have been through the pit, and I am lifting you up in a category you have not experienced before.

So get ready, for I have found even the leaders in this place to be faithful. They have hung on even in that weakness. Even in the turmoil to where they felt like they could not walk another step. But open up your eyes just as you have opened up your heart, for this is a new day. And don’t hesitate to move in, for it is your worship- it is your worship of Me that brings My presence into this place. And even a fresh new anointing coming upon My worshipers – and a bond – all of us. So get excited in your heart and count on it – because it’s going to happen.

You're Good Enough - You Qualify! - Becky Maisenbacher

I was reminded recently in a dream of one of the oldest tactics of the enemy of our soul. You know him as your adversary. He whispers untrustworthy thoughts, deceitfully mimicking the insightful, guiding whispers of Holy Spirit. When he is near he assaults you with whispers like: “You’re never going to make it. No one likes you. You’re ugly. You’re stupid. God doesn’t love you. You will never be happy. He will never forgive you.” The constant barrage of wearisome thoughts that pummel your mind always come to discourage, shame, condemn and ultimately destroy you.

If you have never heard or entertained any of these thoughts then you are a walking miracle. Because the accuser of the brethren is set on taking you out, but God has preserved you to finish the race.

When God speaks through dreams he often comes to encourage, expose the works of darkness, bring healing, peace and comfort, direction or pinpoint what He wants to work on with us. This dream came with a lack of color. It appeared in muted grays which can signal God is letting us in on the plans of darkness so we are not caught unaware.

I was in the second story of a very large furniture store as a salesperson. I noticed there were many associates and sales people working beside me. We took people throughout the story, guiding them through the array of beautiful pieces and assisting them with their purchase, which included antiques. While working on the second floor we hear the “manager” speaking loudly below us in the first floor warehouse. As we all lean over the balcony railing he says: “I want to hire a person for a higher level position, who will be on time each day and do what I ask.” His voice is harsh and demanding and I wonder why I am working for such an unkind manager. But I reason in my mind thinking, “Well, I am always on time and I think I could qualify for the position?” As we lifted our hands to qualify and be considered for the position, the manger emphatically states: “Don’t you get it! You don’t qualify! You’re not good enough!” Repelled by his harsh condemning declaration we all lunged back from the railing, reeling from his negativity.

Let’s look at the symbolism and what our Father may be revealing right now.
Furniture – to supply what is needed to equip and to give needed supplies to make life more comfortable. Presents, inheritance, material goods, promises, or internal affairs of how one structures their life.

Are you a furniture salesperson who has a desire to help others? Do you know you have an inheritance in God that He hopes to see you fulfill? Maybe you have laid down dreams or you’ve followed the deceiving whispers that “It could never happen for me – I’m not good enough.”

If you have encountered mean spirited people in authority at some point in life like a sibling, well-meaning friend or parent, coach, teacher, even a pastor who has spoken cruel words over you and may have accepted the lie as truth.

So here is the deal, Beloved. The God who knew you before the foundation of the earth and before you were formed in your mother’s womb – He knows you! He loves you! He has a future and hope for you – destiny and life as He waits for you to embrace yourself and declare: I have value. God loves me and I qualify for life and destiny.

We as furniture sales people, in His body, are assigned to give out, teach, equip and supply what is needed for others to understand life in this world, by sharing God’s love, His gifts and inheritance as well as material goods. As we reject the lies and stay focused on His truth and the promises of God we can bring life to weary souls and help build healthy structures for their lives.

God desires for His people to soar and live an abundant overcoming life. He wants you to know He has qualified you. Through the cross, you are qualified. You are good enough and therefore appointed to live in His covenant of peace where there is safety, security, strength, prosperity, health and increase. Let Him become the Manager of your life, and He will guide, teach, comfort, and direct you toward reaching the “position” and destiny in life He has designed for you. He loves you and declares - You are good enough!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10.

 In His Love,

We Are Family - Becky Maisenbacher

Webster defines Family as “a group consisting of parents and children living together; a group of people related to one another by blood or marriage; all the descendants of a common ancestor.”

If He lives in you, the we are connected by Christ’s blood and He is also our common “Ancestor.” How joyous and wonderful it is to be in God’s family, where we can love, support, pray for, cheer on, dwell together and support one another through this life. Psalm 133:1 declares:Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!”

We are family! it seems fitting that God is reminding us who we really are today in this world, just like the Apostle Paul in ancient times. Whenever he spoke, especially to the Ephesians and often to Timothy, he encouraged each person to embrace and recognize their position in the Family of God. Ephesians 2:18-19: for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and are of God’s household.”

Over forty years ago as He called Richard and I to full-time ministry, He asked us to build a spiritual family, I was taken back at His request and just had to ask Him, “Why do You need another ‘church’ when it seems like you have almost a church, bank or gas station on every corner?” We were very content to serve and support our pastors and had no desire to leave.

Then, He began to teach me that these special families were all part of His Kingdom - His household. Their various assignments made them Kingdom Households for Him to enjoy and have relationship, as well as to fulfill His desires here on earth. He gave them various assignments and strengths. Some were more evangelistic, some excelled especially with training, healing, missions, the prophetic and more. Every “church” in His eyes was an extension of Him and He called them His family.

I was recently reminded of the many waves of revelation or dispensations through the years we have been privileged to experience. Healing of the 50’s, Evangelism, the Jesus movement, Charismata and Holy Spirit of the 60’s and 70’s, Prophetic movements with treasure hunts, dreams and visions, with evangelistic outreach of the 80’s, Home Group movements, House Churches and Mega Churches of the 90’s, to the present with the Apostolic movement, all with His “anointing” and “gifts.”

Over time, at least to me, I sensed some of His places of habitation became more like “institutions” in reaching people with their “specialties;” becoming more divisive as they celebrated numbers and competition with spiritual gifts, rather than inviting people into a relationship with our Father and one another. It seemed that growing as a family and learning about God’s ways was no longer “enough”

This dialogue and revelation changed my perception of His ways and purposes as well as His desire to build His Kingdom through “Families.” God’s plan is to build communities of and for His children; include brothers and sisters, elders with moms and dads, grandpas and grandmas - to encourage, teach, train, guide, mentor, watch over and pray for, while supporting each other - and most importantly – loving one another. God is able to reveal and model His family plan to all who know and abide in Him.

Honestly, it was a challenge, to think of stepping into a “pastor” role with Richard. But with this revelation, I could accept our full-time call to facilitate, like Aquila and Priscilla, and allow God to lay and build His foundation for a family. Even to this day, when I pass by a church building, I see a Family of God, who He has assigned and knitted together; understanding that the building is just a building, and His church, which is really the people and family inside, are my family too.

As we continue in Ephesians Chapter 2:20-22 Paul continues to instruct us of our positioning in God’s Kingdom: “having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone. In whom the whole building (body), being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you are also being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.”

I love this so much! We are being fitted together, a part of His temple, being built together as His dwelling place.  We need each other! God has built His Kingdom where there are never to be “lone rangers.” Yes, we all at times have been wounded by issues and misunderstandings, but we need to be connected in relationship with Him, as well as in Spirit, and when possible in person with community. We gain our peace, strength and power when we gather and commune together. We gain understanding and revelation as well as strength and endurance when we align together. God loves relationship! He has built us to desire relationship with Him as well as each other.

I believe we will begin to see divine direction for some communities to return, or even new communities birthed, to the heart of God and his desire for a fresh family structure and supportive body, that will draw the prodigals and youth that long for connection, long for love and support; who need guidance, wisdom and counsel, and the dynamic of family they have possibly never known.

As we allow God to work deeply within us, let’s surrender to His plan of transformation to become the family that no longer expends their energy through, criticism, elitism or competition. Let’s be His body rightly fitted together as we pray for one another, celebrate and cheer on one another, support one another, giving hope to each other in His love, knowing we all form His Temple – a place for Him to dwell. And as the author of Hebrew extolled thousands of years ago - and still very relevant today:

“Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God,” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

You are invited to come and be apart, as He continues to build His Kingdom, through relationship and family, that has no end - “and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end,” Luke 1:33.

In His Love,

PS - Here are a few of my favorite Scriptures as we continue to study His ways.

Corinthians 12:12 NASB -“For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one part, but many. If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But now God has arranged the parts, each one of them in the body, just as He desired. If they were all one part, where would the body be? But now there are many parts, but one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again, the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, it is much truer that the parts of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; and those parts of the body which we consider less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor, and our less presentable parts become much more presentable, whereas our more presentable parts have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that part which lacked, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the parts may have the same care for one another. And if one part of the body suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if a part is honored, all the parts rejoice with it. Now you are Christ’s body, and individually parts of it.”

Psalm 40:8 – “I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”

Psalm 25:4-5 –“Show me Your Ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are My Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.”

Ephesians 4:15-16 – “But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”

In My Distress He Answered Me - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

This week, I have tried to wrap my head around the senseless violence that we have graphically witnessed.  I have experienced a sea of emotions from grief  to outrage. My heart is overwhelmed with the depravity and endless carnage in the world.  Assassinations, murders, contempt, brutality, wars, bullying, hate, rage, revenge. Jesus! How do we make sense of this? What can I do? I’ve prayed, I’ve written my congressmen, I’ve sat on committees and discussion groups to what avail? The lack of respect and sanctity for human life still permeates the landscape of our nation.

I was reminded twenty-two years ago during a time of intercessory prayer at TCC; the weightedness of God’s presence drove us to our knees.  We wept and cried out for God to heal the racism and cultural divide in our country.  I remember one visitor in a correcting manner declared out loud: “Oh that’s already over with.” My heart sank with her comment and the lack of awareness of what was to come and be exposed. God visited us that sacred evening and revealed his heart to our tiny prayer group; the depth of the prejudiced and bigotry still hidden in the hearts of some and that he would be coming to bring justice and lift up, promote and redeem the centuries of injustice especially to the African Americans.  To this day my heart cries out to God to bring restitution and redemption to all who have suffered the centuries of being dehumanized, humiliated and abused. So this week as I quieted my thoughts, I believe he came with some clarity for prayer and understanding: “ In my distress I called to the Lord and he answered me,”(Ps. 120:1).

I submit to you the following for reflection:

Becky, you and many others are sensing the pain in my heart for my creation. This was not my intended plan in the garden, but as I chose to give man free choice, evil was also birthed.  Even as I sent my Son to earth to bring life, abundantly, I have watched the darkness grow in the hearts of men and I feel the pain and anguish through my people. As I wept watching Mary’s anguish at Lazaraus’ grave, I still today sense the pain and continue to count the tears of my people, just as my servant David cried out to me: “You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your water-skin, (Psalm 56:8).

Remember beloved when you observe and experience the pain and injustice of this world, know that I am with you and very aware: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places,” (Ephesians 6:12).

And in my time though it may appear that I linger, know that I will come and wipe away every tear (Revelation 21:4). I will expose darkness and bring my righteousness and justice: "I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars,” (Isaiah 45:2).  Trust me and know that: “I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you from the grasp of the violent," (Jeremiah 15:21). Always remember to: watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life, (Prov. 4:23; for if you entertain wickedness in your heart, the Lord will not hear, (Psalm 66:18).

Then I heard the following melody from years past.  I believe it is a clarion call to the body to arise. It is time!  Much of the world is lost in darkness and people in their pain and disillusionment need God! Be guided by His Spirit.  Choose to move forward in the things he places within your heart, and in his love and grace touch a hurting world in His name. He is calling you!

People Need The Lord by Steve Green

Everyday they pass me by
I can see it in their eyes
Empty people filled with care
Headed who knows where

On they go through private pain
Living fear to fear
Laughter hides their silent cries
Only Jesus hears

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realize people need the Lord?

We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right
What could be too great a cost
For sharing life with one who's lost?

Through His love our hearts can feel
All the grief they bear
They must hear the words of life
Only we can share

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realize that we must give our lives?
For people need the Lord, people need the Lord

Things Are Fixin' To Change - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

Hello Precious Family,

We are in a time of reset, rest, realignment with him, and so much more. I have found when God sets his people aside and quiets them, it is often for developing a fresh level of hearing his voice more clearly, gaining greater understanding of his ways, growing in intimacy and forbearance as we mature in patience and self-control, learning to wait and trust to win the battle of the mind by standing in peace and faith. When we emerge from these moments of solitude we will begin to see that we are changed and that he has been at work exposing, freeing and healing parts of our heart to prepare for the new.

I have also sensed to repost a word that I received while in prayer at The Covenant Center on June 4, 2017. I remember so clearly hearing the spirit express that "things were 'fixin' to change. Little did I know the extent of the word "change." But as we've entered a new decade and new season, even a reformation of sorts; change is surely upon us. I hope this word will give you encouragement that God is not caught unaware and he always uses all things for good to those who love him.

THINGS ARE FIXIN' TO CHANGE - June 4, 2017
But I heard the Spirit of the Lord as soon as I hit this room today say: “Things are fixin’ to change!” I said, What Lord? And He said, “I said, Things are fixing to change!!” And then He said the sweetest thing. He said, “I’m so proud of this family that I have birthed and brought together. Look around. They’ve stood with Me in darkness, they stood with Me in loss and pain. They stood with Me and trusted Me through it all. What good Father would not give good gifts to His children? And how sweet it is to watch the child, the babe when he first takes his steps and begins to walk. What a thrill it is, that first step, even when he falls. The joy of watching him, stand on their feet and to begin to walk and run. What joy that is to Me. And I say to you, how can one understand the mountain if there is no valley? How can one understand the glory of light until they have stood in darkness? How can one understand My miracle working power when they have not experienced pain and loss? How can they not understand My gift of prosperity and life if they have not walked through the valley of the shadow of death?

These things are not meant to harm you. These things are meant to teach you and train you. These things are meant for you to become the light of the world. And in these coming days, as the earth grows darker, you will be My temples and houses of light. Fear not. Fear not. I come to protect you. You walk in My covenant of peace. I bring to you health and life and prosperity and healing and joy when we recognize My hand is upon you. Oh, but I hear you say, God, it’s taken so long. What is the reason for Him taking so long? Do you think there was not celebration at that pool that day, the years, of the 38 years the paralytic sat by that pool waiting for My touch? Time is of no essence to Me. I know it feels that way to you, but has it not been written that those that wait upon Me shall be renewed, shall be healed, shall be restored, shall be given life abundantly?
So understand, even though there was a ten-year law suit, even though it has taken twenty years to put in place the proper applications and positioning of those who I have positioned in this house, things are fixin’ to change! And I ask you one thing as the blessings come, yes, as the blessings come, please My beloved, remember where I’ve brought you from and what I have done for you. Remember. Remember. And let your testimony fill the airwaves of the earth with My Glory and My faithfulness.”

Love to you all and Richard and I continue to hold you in our hearts and prayers!

Greatness Lies Ahead - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

We are entering a new decade where we will see greatness released. New and innovative products as well as structures and systems will be birthed. Brilliance with innovation is often birthed out of adversity. God has plans to give you a future and hope, (Jeremiah 29:11).

I believe it is important to understand what is happening in the natural as well as the spiritual. In a recent article by Peter Zeihan a geopolitical strategist “The Geopolitics of American Fear, 3/17/2020, he suggests:

“American history of all eras is rich with examples of how challenges turned into increase.

1) The Pearl Harbor panic fostered the deepwater dominance strategy, culminating in a Navy more powerful than all other players combined.

2) The Sputnik panic brought us a root-to-branch overhaul of the educational system and industrial plant.

 3) The Vietnam depression married tech to military strategy and brought us JDAMs, cruise missiles, the Internet and cell phones.

 4) The 1979 and 1983 oil shocks led directly to deepwater oil production and the shale revolution.

The American system has exited every decade in a stronger position than it was in when it entered, including the decade periods of the Great Depression and Great Recession. It came thru the 1920s Spanish flu epidemic which spawned the development of penicillin (a far more deadly pathogen than coronavirus).”

For those of us who have weathered various storms of life, we can say in faith, “God is with you!” He encourages you to have no fear as you keep your eyes on Him. Though the world around may change He is ever present. He is the same yesterday, today and forever and He loves and cares about you!

Among the gods there is none like you, Lord;   no deeds can compare with yours.
All the nations you have made    will come and worship before you, Lord;   they will bring glory to your name.
For you are great and do marvelous deeds;   you alone are God. Ps. 86:8-10

God continues to calm the storms of life. He will calm this one too.

Love and prayers to you and family,

Preparation For Your Destination - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

During the recent Ten Days of Awe, it was a special time of reflection with the Lord. Matthew 26 was particularly highlighted to me as I read again about the woman with the alabaster box or vial. “Now when Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the leper, a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it upon His head as He reclined at the table. But the disciples were indignant when they saw this, and said, “Why this waste? For the perfume might have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.” Verse 10 particularly stood our to me and I slowly reread the words of Jesus: “But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you bother the woman? For she has done a good deed to Me. For the poor you have with you always; but you do not always have Me. For when she poured this perfume upon My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial. Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done shall also be spoken of in memory of her.”

Immediately, this woman appeared before me in a vision. It was time to research further to see what others had to say about her. Surprisingly what was written revealed some conflicting information. I found there were various commentaries that gave different insight regarding this woman and her life. Some believe she was Lazarus’ sister, others suggest Mary Magdalene or another unknown woman. Her ability to possess a translucent alabaster vial containing rare perfume suggests she may have been wealthy; while some believe this precious vial of perfume or ointment, which was about 300 denarii, amounted to a year’s labor which she may have saved up.

There is also conjecture about whether she anointed Jesus’ head, just His feet or both. So references are given to Mark 14:3 and Luke 7:37 for further research. I personally wonder if Judas was one of the disciples who may have questioned her extravagance.  Since shortly after, he went to the chief priests and asked how much he could make turning Jesus over to them. Hidden motivations of the heart are usually exposed at some point through our behavior.

As I meditated on these verses, more questions appeared. I wanted to know more about her and her life, and how she decided to give this costly ointment to Jesus. Did she impulsively grab the beautiful glass bottle one day, running breathlessly to where He was eating in an impulsive moment when she realized what Jesus meant to her and what He had done for her? Or were her actions well thought out and pre-meditated? If she was Lazarus’ sister, she would have been extremely grateful that He raised her brother from the dead. If it was Mary Magdalene she would have been overtaken with His kindness and gentleness as He acknowledged her, giving her a new identity as person that was loved by God.

Of course we may never know the truth of her motivation. We don’t really know her process of preparation in her personal life that brought her to the moment to share her expensive product with Jesus. What we do remember and what is historically recorded are her actions. Her act of love and humility, gratitude and thankfulness as she approached Jesus and shared her precious ointment, giving all she was worth to Him is what we remember. And Jesus being honored by her endeavor declared in verse 13: “Wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done shall also be spoken of in memory of her.” We know little of her time of work and sacrifice to earn and purchase this rare vial of perfume, or how long she possessed it. However, her behavior and deed, as well as her love for Him lives on.

To me, she has become a representation of the years of preparation that take place for those called of God; and you all are called! I’ve become more keenly aware of the hidden and sometimes arduous process of transformation in His kingdom. Often years of training, maturing, developing, gleaning wisdom and understanding are hidden - out of sight, where people only see the results or the sudden breakthrough. We often forget to consider the incubation period, or the required time and sacrifice; sometimes years of labor in preparing a person for His release.

And like the disciples taunting her, today some still go through the same persecution practice: “What are you doing throwing your life away studying to become a pastor or missionary? What are you doing paying to go to Bible School and giving tithes when you don’t even own your home or go on vacation? What are doing when all your money could be given to the poor or needy? Why are you helping that person? Why did you give up your job for ministry when you have multiple degrees to live well in comfort, and you choose to serve others? How could you open your home to the poor and homeless? These questions caused me to pause and think again about the hidden motivations of the one asking them, just like some of the disciples. Why did they care how this woman chose to express her gratitude and affection? Why did they care where she spent her money or her time?

Today as I reflect on our Covenant Center family as well as the family of God at large, no one really knows for sure what you have walked through or experienced to bring you to the place of devotion to Him. No one really knows the years of preparation and sacrifice in your journey before you reach your destination. You see there is always preparation for the destination. And everyone is in some stage of preparation for their destination. We usually just don’t realize it as we daily walk through the often mundane process of life in this world.

In 15 years we moved 12 times before arriving here in Florida. In those uncertain and sometimes tumultuous years of searching to find “Who am I? Who is God?” life was filled with what seemed to be the mundane: job chasing, bill paying, children raising, house and laundry cleaning, meal preparation, finance budgeting and more. I now realize there was much growth, maturing and preparation that ultimately paved the way to where we are today. Wisdom and understanding often came through failure and loss. Please know that whatever you may be experiencing today; you are also being prepared for your destination!

If you have given your heart to Jesus, you’ve experienced the first step. That moment when He came to you and said: “Would you love Me and be My disciple?” Later in life He comes to you again and says: “Will you visit the sick, feed the poor and widowed? Or maybe He asks: “Will you pick up trash and clean the toilets as you open your home for others to come. Will you sell your home and follow Me? Will you teach the 2 year olds? The 4 year olds? Will you sing and praise Me? Will you study and receive training? Will you pray? Will you give offerings and tithes? Will you love the unlovely? Will you forfeit your own comfort? Will you give yourself to Me?” Then one day He comes and asks if you want to climb even higher. “Will you give all that you are to Me so I may mold you into My image and desire for your destiny?” The gift of age will help you to one day look back and realize your life choices have all been preparation for your destination. You begin to realize in each of His requests you have reflected on your life, wrestled a bit with Him, examined your motivations; and finally made a choice.

To me this is what the woman with the precious vial walked through. She fell so deeply in love with Jesus; the one who saved her and honored her. He taught her and showed her what love looked like. He forgave her, encouraged her and she knew she was changed with a new identity. She realized she was no longer the person of her past. She responded to the heavenly character and nature in Jesus and the love and acceptance she received. She was now free. Without hesitation she willingly gave all to Him.

You are in your preparation for your destination. God will lovingly and continually check in on you and help you reflect on your motivations as you make choices that will propel you forward in His plan for your life. Each one of you will have multiple choices before your life is over to break your own alabaster vials, pouring yourself out to Him in gratefulness and thanksgiving.  Where are you in your journey? What is precious to you? What is He asking of you? Are you willing to break open your vial?

In His Love,

I Am The Great Maestro - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

While in prayer on Sunday Morning at The Covenant Center, May 26, 2019, I heard the Spirit of the Lord say:

I am the Great Maestro! I am the Great Maestro! I am the Conductor of the Universe and all things bow to My name. Do you think that I am caught by surprise by events and situations and even trials that you must walk through? Do you think that I am not aware when evil and darkness must come to My throne to ask permission to do anything in this world, in this universe? No! I am not surprised and yet I hear My children, My people often saying, “Why, why, why, why, God?”  as they also said many years before. I heard their cries with Noah, I heard their cries with Abraham, I heard their cries with Moses. Why?  But My plans are far  greater than your understanding can imagine. I am doing a great work in the earth. I’m doing a great work in the universe. Open your eyes, listen with your ears. Allow My Spirit to flow through you which will allow you to see the magnificence of My actions. Yes, there are people that are martyred in my name. Has it not been said so in Scripture? And yes, even today that we celebrate those who were martyred in the name of freedom, is that not what My Son stood for? Freedom! But the freedom that comes by My Spirit is much different than the world.

So I say to you My beloved, do not look at the world and do not weigh your importance or your actions by what the world says is important. Sit with Me, continue to run with Me, speak with Me, study with Me, walk with Me, and let Me continue to reveal My secrets and the keys to My Kingdom. For even though it looks dark around you, I am with you. Does it not say that I am with you always? I am with you and I am moving on your behalf. And I am bringing healing and life to you, and wholeness. So, shall it be in this world as it also is in My Kingdom! So, do not fret, do not worry, do not be disconcerted by events around you for you will see in the coming days and you will look back and go “Oh, oh, oh!  Oh Father, Oh my Lord, You had it all under control all the time.” So receive today, My love. Receive an indwelling. Allow Me to become a habitation within you where I will be with you always, and you will sense My manifest presence. I will bring you peace and life through whatever you walk through. Let Me guide you in your jobs. Let Me guide you in those that you meet - the divine appointments. Let Me guide you through your day.

So again I ask and remind you, know that I am with you. Know that I am the Conductor of the universe and I know where you are and I know who you are and I know you by name and I know the events that take place in your life. And you will see and you will sense My hand and My love wrapped around you, guiding you, guarding you, and encouraging you till the day you come home to see Me face to face.

I am the Conductor of the universe. I am the Great Maestro. Rejoice in Me that nothing is too great for Me and nothing has taken Me by surprise.

We thank you Father that you know who we are and you know each one of us by name. We thank you that you are doing a great work in the earth and your desire is to prosper each one of your children, and have them be in health, even as our souls prosper. Thank You Lord! Thank You Lord!

In His Love,

Believe In Me - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

While in prayer on Sunday Morning at The Covenant Center, May 19, 2019, I heard the Spirit of the Lord say:

Whose report do you believe? I ask you, Whose report do you believe? Do you believe Me? Do you believe My word? Do you know that, yes, sorrow comes but there is still joy in the morning? I’m setting you up, I’m setting you up for miracles in your life. I’m setting you up for promotion. Yes, the season has been hard. Training is hard, challenges are hard, gathering wisdom and understanding often comes through pain, but I am setting you up for promotion. Who do you think that that I am? I ask you beloved, who do you think that I am? Do you think that I have not created you before the world began? Do you think that I have not given you favor? Do you think that I am not the One who promotes you? Do you think I am not the One who prospers you? Do you think I am not the One who heals you? Do you think I am not the One who orders your steps? The darkness and the enemy would come to torment you. There are many that are being tormented in this day. I haven’t done it! You say “ I’ve missed it, He’s not with me anymore, why is He not speaking to me? I guess I’ve missed it. I guess He doesn’t love me. I guess it was never real. I guess He’s not real.”  But I say to you, I am real and I created you for My divine purpose, and it shall be so because what I start I finish. And I ask you today, who do you believe? What do you believe? And as I spoke to My disciples I said to them, Believe in Me. Trust Me, for I am with you always. Believe in Me and know that I am with you and I have good things planned for you and I plan to prosper you, I plan to give you favor. But know that some things take time because I am not throwing you together for you to lose or to fail. I am building you to be victorious.

So, even though at times it may seem like suffering, and even though at times it may seem I am quiet, know that I am with you always! I am with you always, And in time I will unfold the plan in your life and you will see Me prosper you because you believe in Me.and you are Mine. Do you sense the wind? The wind is blowing! The breath of My Spirit is blowing!  You’ve entered a new season. Feel the wind blowing upon you and your family. Feel the wind blowing upon the embers of the passion that has softened or died because of the hardships you’ve gone through. I’m blowing on those embers (blowing into the mic). Be revived! I’m sending My angelic host - be revived, be revived, be revived. Be revived with the vision I gave you. Be revived with the gifts that I’ve given you. Be revived with the hope that I’ve placed within you and imparted to you. Be revived in My love. For this is a new day!  I know, I know, you’ve heard new day, new day, new day. But it is a new day for you! Even though your schedule may not look like the schedule of others, I ask you, don’t compare! Don’t compare! This is not a competition. I’m dealing with you individually. I’m dealing with your life, I’m dealing with your family, I’m answering your prayers. Look to Me. Trust Me. Believe in Me. For I have not left you, and you will see things begin to spring forth and you will say, “Thank You, Lord, it is well with You.  It is well with my soul.”

So rejoice and give Me praise because I am the God that is more than enough. I am the King of the Universe and you will see Me move on your behalf.

Thank you Lord for your love and provision. That you guide us and walk with us. Thank you that you have plans not to harm us but to give us hope. Thank you that you walk with us and guide us even in uncharted waters and even in darkness. Lord, we believe and ask you to help us with any unbelief. We choose to trust you and place our hope in you. Help us to sense the wind of your Spirit and see with Spirit eyes your plans and purposes. Thank you that all provision comes from you - that you are our supply. Thank you Lord that you are always with us. We rejoice in your loving kindness and goodness. We thank You, Lord!

Be blessed in His love and grace!

Patience and Perseverance Brings Life - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

When you choose to walk in a covenantal relationship with God He imparts HIs Gifts of the Spirit to you as He brings forth His Fruit of the Spirit. As you experience the mixture of life, joy as well as trials, God is continually at work maturing you to look more like Him. Galatians 5:22 explains the divine fruit as the following: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Just like tending a garden, watching over the growth and maturation of His fruit in your life takes time.

I’ve been reflecting lately on all the wonders and truths God has shown me and entrusted to me over the years. His program for character development has at times been very challenging, especially learning what patience looks like to Him. We find Jesus in Luke 21 giving instructions to His followers, and in verse 19 He states: “By your endurance you will gain your lives.” The word endurance is found in the concordance #5278 as Hupomeno; meaning to remain under, to endure or sustain a load of miseries, adversities, persecutions or provocations in faith and patience toward things or circumstances. What Jesus is implying here is that things are going to get tough. Life is not going to always be sweet and it is important for you to develop your gift of endurance and patience to run and finish your race.

As a child, patience is waiting for Christmas or a birthday; even the end of school for summer vacation to commence. Patience may appear as a dream of finishing school, getting a drivers license or attending college or tech schools. Times seems to pass slowly as you look forward to these life markers. Then you may dream of finding a spouse, getting married and working in a great job, or making money to buy a house or car. You wait, and wait, and wait some more. After working for many years, you dream of retirement, travel, financial stability. In all your life experiences you learn to wait, learning patience, endurance, perseverance, knowing fulfillment will come some day. You may then find yourself care taking aging parents, or trusting for healing in your body, finances, relationships or children. More patience, enduring, waiting, waiting, waiting. Now by waiting, I mean actively waiting. Life doesn’t stand still. Life rolls along, but those hopes or desires and expectations remain as we patiently and diligently live each day. Ecclesiastes reminds us in 3:1-8 there is a season for everything under heaven. Recognizing your season of life will help you grow in patience and peace as well as understanding.

Patience is often one of the most difficult fruit to develop. When we acquire the ability to wait, we then reflect more of His peace. Learning patience in God’s time is certainly not like the world’s time. Healing may come as an instant miracle or it may arrive after much perseverance. Finances may instantaneously appear if you win the lottery or an inheritance, or it may take a lifetime to acquire and save. Jesus and His disciples taught His followers the importance of learning to be patient and endure. They knew it was important for their souls, as well as mental and spiritual health. “By your patient endurance you will gain your lives (possess your soul)”, Luke 21:19. “But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved,” Matthew 24:13. “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance, and let patience have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing,” James 1:1-4.

Patience, endurance, perseverance, whatever you choose, is foundational in a believer’s journey with God. We as children are not always very patient, but in surrendering to God’s plans and understanding the season you may be in, you will find greater peace as you learn to bow to His hands molding you into a new person and becoming more like Him. Oswald Chambers wrote in his ageless devotional, My Utmost For His Highest: “God gives us a vision, and then He takes us down to the valley to batter us into shape of that vision. It is in the valley that so many of us give up and faint. Every God-given vision will become real if we will only have patience.”

A few thoughts to help you as you practice the skill of patient endurance: 1) Realize God is not in a hurry. He has given you eternity. He changes you the most in the difficult places. I have prayers 10 years and counting as well as prophetic words 30 years and waiting. Know that He hears your cries and will perform His work in your life in His perfect time. 2) When waiting seems unbearable, ask God if there is something for you to learn or do in the situation. Ask Him to give you clarity and understanding. 3) Find peace and comfort in His love for you knowing He works all things for your good. He is changing you as you endure. 4) Plan a time each day to quiet yourself and simply rest or talk with Him. Tell Him how you feel, knowing that He is listening and in time will respond as He sets things in order.

Father, thank You that You love us so much that You allow difficult times in life to cause us to grow and mature as You mold us to be more like You. Thank You for Your divine impartation and intervention in our lives, guiding us, teaching and changing us. Help us to learn to trust You more, knowing that You desire for us to prosper and be in health, as You teach our souls to prosper (3 John 1:2). ”Let us not become weary of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up” ( Galatians 6:9). Thank you Father!

In His Love,

Get Wisdom And Understanding! - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

Discernment. Logic. Reasoning skills. These were all important concepts to help develop language skills in our students, during my tenure as a Speech-Language Therapist. It was important for students to not only learn their vocabulary and sentence development, but to also acquire the ability to weigh and rightly discern situations to make quality decisions. It is still important in life to gain understanding. Life works more smoothly when we have knowledge. In Proverbs we find the timeless words of wise men and Rabbi’s who taught on the ways to conduct one’s life. Some have described Proverbs as “Wisdom Literature.” We find in chapter 4 suggestions for a better less painful plan to life in the author’s wise and fatherly instruction: “Pay attention, hear intelligently and gain or recognize understanding to live life well.” He states: “Hear, O sons, the instruction of a father, and give attention that you may gain understanding, for I give you sound teaching; Do not abandon my instruction…. Keep my precepts and live. Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding!…Do not forsake her, and she will guard you; Love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding. Prize her and she will exalt you; She will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a garland of grace; She will present you with a crown of beauty.”

We can have intellectual knowledge and still end up with a very difficult life. Is it possible that our society has grown in material wealth but possibly failed in encouraging children and young people to develop their understanding and discernment, while learning to think, communicate and reason for themselves. Even Isaiah 1:18 emphasized the importance to “come and reason together.” Instead of making decisions by cultural norms, familial belief structures, he said-she said, what would happen if we were able to pause, take in and process information and respond more slowly to others and situations; while taking time to gain understanding and perspective and prayerfully seeking the Spirit of Truth who comes with divine wisdom and revelation?

Proverbs 4 closes with further guidance in verses 20-23. “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their whole body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.”

Father, Spirit of Truth, please come and help us to gain wisdom, revelation and understanding as we apply heaven’s principles and precepts to our lives, our relationships and decision making. Thank you for transforming our hearts to better align with you and your word. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. May the eyes of your heart be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. (Eph. 1:17-19a).

God's Names Reveal His Character And Nature - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

What better way to prepare and strengthen yourself as we enter 2019 than to review and reflect upon some of God’s names. There are twists and turns with unexpected surprises, strife and challenges in this life journey, so may I suggest you consider taking a few moments to consider some of His names and prepare your heart. Personally, His names have kept me, strengthened and comforted me over the years and I know they will give support and life to you also.

This year, if you battle sickness of any kind, remember to call out, ask and declare His name over your circumstances, for He is “Jehovah-Rapha.” He is health and life to you. When you have any provisional needs call to Him and allow Him to help you and be your supply; for His name is “Jehovah-Jireh,” your Supplier. If you find yourself weary and in need of guidance and protection, remember to call upon Him as - “Jehovah-Nissi,” for the Lord is your banner and conqueror. This name was actually given by Moses who gave this name to the altar he built as they celebrated the defeat of the Amalekites at Rephidim in Exodus 17:15. His banner over you is not only Love, but Victory for you! Always know that whatever your situation this year, you will find Him present, for HIs name is also Jehovah-Shamah - “Jehovah is there!.” This name was given to the city in Ezekiel’s vision in Ezekiel 48:35. This truly defines His character and His positioning to you; always in the mist - always there with you!

There are so many names of God it is difficult to list them all here. But if you are interested and find His names comforting, you can of course check the internet. Also John Paul Jackson wrote a wonderful book of HIs names: “I Am: 365 Names of God”, and Katherine Johnson has an in depth manual on the Names of God through our Covenant Center bookstore which you can find on our website: www.thecovenantcenter.com.

As you study His names, you will become more intimately aware of who God is; and knowing Him more intimately, you will receive a greater understanding of not only His nature and character, but also HIs ways.

I’ve listed a few of His names that have been very precious to me. I hope you find them encouraging and enriching to your life in Christ.

Jehovah-Adonai - “Jehovah, My Master and Lord”
Jehovah-El-Shaddai - “Jehovah, Who is More Than Enough”
Jehovah-Elyon - “Jehovah, God Most High.”
Jehovah-M’Kaddesh - “Jehovah My Sanctifier”
Jehovah-Rohi - “Jehovah My Shepherd”
Jehovah-Shalom - “Jehovah My Peace and Prosperity”
Jehovah-Tsidquenu - “Jehovah My Righteousness”
Jehovah-Yahweh - “Jehovah -Great I Am”
Jehovah-Or - “The Lord is LIght”
Jehovah-Goaleka - “The Lord My Redeemer”
Jehovah-Isabaoth - “The Lord of Host”

You are precious to God! He loves you! When you are confronted in any situation this year, know that it is a set up for Him to reveal His nature and His character to you and for you. He desires to intimately know you and I pray that through this year your relationship with Him will grow and your life will be enriched and changed by His love and grace.

The God Of All Comfort - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

Pain and suffering is an inevitable part of life in this world. As much as we may resist it, sooner or later it finds us. For most of Thanksgiving and now into the Christmas season, I’ve been sitting here with intense pain and spasms from a near miss auto accident. I’ve actually battled back, neck and disc pain for over forty years from a high speed head on crash while in my 20’s. I see more and more each day, each painful episode of life gives us an opportunity to know Him more intimately, in His faithfulness, His presence, love and beauty, as well as identifying with His suffering.

In our pain and weakness God comes with His comfort and peace. In our loneliness, He comes as a friend and teacher. In our times of discouragement He comes as the God of Hope. He teaches us there are moments in life to simply embrace the pain and allow Him to do His deep work and bring healing and new life. We find ourselves alone with HIm, and in this time a deeper more intimate relationship and understanding of HIm and His ways begins to form. In this time we begin to understand that He has never left us or forsaken us. He is always present to guide and comfort, and in our pain and by His word, He changes us a little each day into more of His image.

May this Christmas and New Year season, whatever your situation, find you wrapped in HIs arms of comfort and peace as He changes you to appear like more of HIm.

Father, thank you that you are always with us, especially in times of pain and discomfort. Thank You for strengthening us and imparting to us greater peace as we learn to surrender our circumstances to You, so You may have Your way and complete Your divine word within us. Thank You for the lessons of patience and waiting as You change our hearts; and thank You in these moments of developing an attitude of thankfulness for the little things of life that expand in our eyes and hearts. Where our appreciation grows in the things we often take for granted, as they burst forth in beauty and brilliance revealing Your omnipotence and majesty.

And now during this sacred season and new year, “May the God of all comfort, who comforts in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ” (2 Corinthians 1:4-5).

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New year!

In His Love,

The Greatest Gift - Becky Maisenbacher

Becky Best Pic 7-2015.png

Christmas is always a special time for many to celebrate, trim the tree, hang the lights and enjoy festivities and gift giving. Joy and hope seem to permeate the atmosphere as we look toward a new year brimming with endless possibilities. For others, it is a challenge to wade through what seems to be a path of never ending celebrations, watching joyful people who appear to have it all; while inside you wrestle with pain, loss and sometimes despair. Unfulfilled expectations can make Christmas intolerable. Whatever your experience, this Christmas can be your best ever by not merely focusing on the festivities, personal loss or regret, but turning your eyes upon Jesus; for He is the true gift of this season.

Believers often describe Jesus as Lord, Savior or use other names describing His character as Truth, Hope, Redeemer and Light, Friend and Shepherd. Over the centuries almost everyone has heard the supernatural story of His birth as well as His crucifixion and resurrection, but what makes Jesus so special and separates Him from other deities. What makes Him such a great gift?

For one thing Jesus, is the only one who is able to forgive mankind of their sin. Whatever you have said or done, no matter how shameful, Jesus has the divine power to cleanse you and forgive you where sin no longer dictates your life. He gives you a clean slate to begin again.

Secondly, after you invite Him to be your Savior and Lord, He is the only one who can renew and transform you into the new person He wants you to be. His supernatural work accomplished through Holy Spirit, will penetrate deep within your heart, mind and soul, causing you to begin to think more clearly and make wiser decisions and choices. He will patiently help you to renew your mind, change your thoughts and ways of thinking, transforming you into a new being. You have the potential to become all that He desires for you to be.

These two qualities certainly make Jesus the greatest man that ever lived, but there is even more to celebrate. He is the only one who provides the pathway for you to live with Him eternally in paradise (Luke 23:43). By simply asking Him into your heart, into your life and getting to know Him, He has promised you will live eternally with Him. I sometimes ponder this point which is too spectacular to actually comprehend with our natural mind. Life everlasting, with Jesus in heaven, living in paradise eternally. He is the only one who can grant this future to you. He is not only the greatest gift but the greatest gift giver.

So as you approach this season, whether you have met Him or not, I submit to you these points in hope you will take a moment to savor and give thanks to the greatest gift God has ever given to you and to mankind - His only Son. If you have never met Him or desired to trust Him, it is never to late to become acquainted with this loving Son of God who became man for you. Whatever your holiday affords you, Jesus is there beside you. He desires to walk with you through your life journey and through His covenant of peace bring you peace, safety, security, prosperity, health, and increase. Yes, it really is possible for you to have new life, filled with hope and renewed vision. As you meet with family and friends this holiday, preparing to ring in the New Year, please consider opening your arms to receive the most expensive and extraordinary gift of love and life from God your Father to you. His name is Jesus and He gave His life for you.

A blessed Christmas and New Year to you and your family,
